Who Owns South Haven's North Beach?

Who owns North Beach in South Haven? The land is currently disputed, with the city claiming ownership as it's maintained it as a public park for more than 60 years, but an Indiana company is suing, saying it belongs to them. Thayer Properties LLC owns land near the beach and has filed the lawsuit against the city and 150 people who live in the Monroe Park subdivision. City officials have been talking to those homeowners about the situation and have asked each property owner to sign a statement backing the city's efforts to claim ownership of the beach. South Haven has filed a countersuit against the Indiana claim. A court date has not been set.
