The Berrien Springs Village Council on Monday was to hear from a steering committee it set up on the matter of making the village into a city. That committee examined what would have to go into such a move, as well as what the benefits might be, and ended up deciding to recommend that such a change not be made, says Village President Milt Richter:
And the committee's answer was no. Still, he says that whether or not to pursue cityhood will be up to the village council. Richter says that, should the council go with the steering committee's recommendation, it could also look at the issue again at a later time.
