Man Jailed After Fight Outside Coloma Bar

A fight outside of a bar in Coloma has landed a Benton Harbor man in jail on assault with intent to murder charges. Police say the 28-year-old stabbed another man in the neck during the fight Tuesday night and officers had to use a Taser to subdue him. The victim of the fight was treated at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph and released after getting stitched up. The fight started when the Benton Harbor man started to allegedly insult patrons inside the bar. A Coloma police officer was also treated for some injuries suffered trying to break up the fight and arrest the suspect. No names have been released.
