Lake Michigan Water Level At Near Record Low



This summer's drought and a winter without much snow have taken a big toll on Lake Michigan. Tom O'Brian of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the lake is currently at 577 feet, with the record low being 576 feet.

That will make navigation difficult on Lake Michigan. Forecasters say rainfall this autumn could be at seasonal levels, but that won't be enough to make up for the drop we've seen so far this year.
