Gobles United Methodist Church Pastor Killed In Bike Accident

The pastor of Gobles United Methodist Church has been killed in an accident in Bloomingdale Township. 64-year-old Edward Mohr was riding a bicycle when the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department says he was hit by a passing car on County Road 388 near 14th Avenue. Mohr was pronounced dead at the scene, and was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident around 10:30 this morning. Police have not said whether or not the driver of the vehicle that hit the pastor will be arrested, but have said alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The case will be turned over to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office for review once police complete their investigation.
