Guilty of second degree murder. That's the plea of 17-year-old Destiny Coulson in the shooting death in January of her 21-year-old boyfriend, David Quinn, Jr. outside their home near Eau Claire. Berrien County Prosecutor Art Cotter tells WSJM News that hope is not lost for Coulson to reform while behind bars.
Cotter's office dropped a felony firearm charge as part of the plea deal and Quinn's family agreed to that. He is recommending a sentence of no longer than 16 years, in the middle of the guidelines of 12 to 20 years behind bars. Coulson will be sentenced on October 8. Quinn's murder happened after a night of drinking and arguing.
