Four Year Old Safe After Being Left Behind On School Van

A four year old boy is safely with his parents after he was briefly reported missing on Friday in Berrien Springs. Baroda Lake Township Police Chief Gary Ruhl tells WSJM that the boy was picked up for school on Friday around noon by a van operated by Lakeshore Schools. Around 12-50 PM, the child’s mother got a call from Sylvester Elementary asking why he wasn’t there for class. The worried mother called police, and Ruhl was able to reach the driver of that van. He then found the four year old asleep in the vehicle, and took him back to Sylvester Elementary. The boy’s father was there waiting, and now the child is back with his parents, safe and sound. Ruhl says that police involvement in this matter is now likely over, and what happens next will be up to the Lakeshore Transportation Department.
