Billboards Welcome Immigrants To Michigan

If you're going west on I94 near Hartford in Van Buren County, you might notice a billboard that reads, "When Michigan welcomes immigrants, Michigan thrives." It's one of two such messages posted along Michigan roads this summer as part of the new Welcoming Michigan initiative. She says that her organization believes immigrants are a vital part of the state's economy, whether they be farm migrant workers, or otherwise. To find out more about the new program, go to WelcomingMichigan.org . the Van Buren County billboard will be up through November.
