The Cass County Sheriff's Department is warning of a new scam through the mail. Captain Lyndon Parrish says residents have started to complain to them about a postcard offering $100 gift cards to retailers like Meijer, Target and Wal-Mart if someone calls an 800-number and pays a small fee by credit card.
Parrish advises people to never place that call, as the folks on the other end of the line are looking for ways to possibly steal your identity. The postcards have a return address of Herndon, Virginia.
