Watervliet Schools won't be outsourcing some of the district's custodians, after all. To save money, the board of education had sought bids for the privatization of some custodial staff, but this week, members instead approved a new custodial contract that included some new concessions. Under the deal, the custodians will pay more for their health insurance. Also this week, the board approved a contract with support staff including food personnel and drivers. They'll get one percent pay raises for each three years of the deal, according to The Herald Palladium.
