Edward Pinkney is out, and James Atterberry is in. On Thursday, the Twin Cities chapter of the NAACP held an election to basically build itself anew. Selected for the post of president was the Reverend Atterberry, who heads the Brotherhood of All Nations Church. He told WSJM that the organization will now be used as a way of bettering the Benton Harbor community through positive action, and he looks forward to getting to work:
Also on Thursday, a new executive committee was picked, which Atterberry says included Lisa Peeples-Hurst as vice president and Alloyd Blackmon as second vice president. Picked as treasurer was Linda Bolton, and picked as secretary was Patricia Hurse. Atterberry says that he as pleased with the turnout for the election, telling us that no ballots were even needed as the nominees encountered no opposition.
