Former Road Commission Employee Speaks Out



Joe Margol has personal insight into the workings at the Berrien County Road Commission and says he understands the concerns of more than a dozen non-union employees who have alleged they're operating under a hostile working environment. Margol's job was eliminated last November as the general superintendent, and he told the Berrien County Board of Commissioners this morning the culture at the road commission started to change two years ago.

The County Board and the employees are waiting for a report into their allegations to be made public. It has been turned in to the Road Commission Board and its attorney, Michael Kluck, but is still being reviewed. County Commissioner Bryan Bixby says he's advising the employees who have blown the whistle on what's going on to be patient and let the investigation process work.
