Fatal Michigan City Crash Likely Connected To Triple Murder Near Detroit

Police in metro Detroit and the Indiana State Police are working together to solve a triple-murder in Van Buren Township that appears to be connected to a fatal crash near Michigan City, Indiana. Thirty-eight-year-old Michael Vander Linden was killed when he collided with another vehicle around 1:30 Thursday morning on I-94, and an Indiana man was also killed. The rest of his family was discovered dead by police when they went to notify them about the accident. Inside the family's home, investigators found Vander Linden's 33-year-old wife, and four and seven-year-old kids stabbed to death in their beds. Police say the deceased man is a person of interest in the murders of the family members and add his relatives are cooperating with authorities.
