A Fennville man is dead after crashing his motorcycle in Valley Township. 39-year-old Christopher Lee Easterly chose not to wear a helmet and that may have been a fatal mistake. Witnesses say he ran off the south side of 118th Avenue, tried to regain control but before he could, struck a fence and was thrown from the bike. EMS personnel say he suffered severe head trauma, and was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s not known if alcohol was involved but tests will be conducted.
