Father Arrested In Death Of Infant In Watervliet

A Watervliet man is behind bars this morning at the Berrien County Jail, and his infant is dead. The Berrien County Sheriff's Department says the man was arrested due to the "suspicious and unsual circumstance" surrounding the 9-1-1 call made yesterday when the child stopped breathing. The baby was first taken to Lakeland Hospital and then airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, whwere the child was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be done later today in Lansing. Sheriff's Department investigators say they will release more information later on Tuesday. No names have yet been revealed.
