The Palisades Nuclear Power Plant is again offline, removed from service Sunday morning to make repairs to a leaking cooling water tank. Plant spokesman Mark Savage said in an email there has been no release of anything radioactive. The leak this time was in the primary coolant system, the system that flows water past the fuel to allow them to make steam. This is not associated with the tank that was repaired back in June and July timeframe. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission ranks Palisades among the nation's four worst plants, but insists it is still operating safely.
