Pullman Market Burns Down

The search is on for a cause today after a fire burned an Allegan County market to the ground. The San Miguel market on 109th Avenue in Pullman caught fire shortly after 2 pm yesterday (Wednesday). The few people who were inside at the time of the fire all got out safely. Seven fire departments from both Allegan and Van Buren Counties responded to help fight the flames. Even so, the market and banquet hall burned to the ground. Firefighters say it appears the blaze started in the kitchen but they're not sure how yet. There are no fire hydrants in Pullman so firefighters had to pull water from nearby lakes and ponds.
