It was a busy night for the County Clerk's office as a number of communities ran out of ballots and they had to revert to the old fashioned way of counting votes - by hand. Here are the results from various Township races:
In Bainbridge Township the 2 GOP trustee seats go to Donald Baiers and John Yetzke.
In Baroda Township the winners were Susan Newcomer and John Harner. The Republican winners in Bertrand Township were Stephen Hicks and David Zelmer
Eugene Casto beat Jane Wesner-Mitchell by one vote (227-226) in the race for Buchanan Township Supervisor. And there was an equally tight race for Township Clerk in Chikaming Township. The winner: Doreen Haywood who beat Mario Zarantenello 229-228.
In the GOP race for Coloma Township Trustee 4 seats were up for grabs and they were won by Bryan Duffield, Robert Harper, James Fulton and Matthew Moser.
Gloria Payne beats Beth McNeil in the race for Lake Township Clerk. Bob Clark wins the primary for Lake County Treasurer - a position vacated by Betty Korcek's retirement. Lake County trustee victors were Terry Eichler, Pat Heyn, James Stine Jr. and John Wilk.
In recently contentious Pipestone Township, Hazen Harner steps down as Supervisor and Doug Davis beats Scott Ward in the GOP primary for his position. Shawn Wolske gets the most votes in the Treasurer's race and the two GOP trustee seats are claimed by Robert Bishop and Floyd Sommer.
There were 4 GOP trustee positions up for grabs in Watervliet Township. Top vote getters were Vick Kinzler, Bob Wallace, Joe Stepich and Joe Matthews.
Sandra McKamey beat incumbent Irene Oman in the Weesaw Township GOP Supervisor race. Wanda Green wins the Republican race for clerk, Jane TAckitt for Treasurer and the 2 GOP trustee winners were Jack Jones and Gary Sommers.
