GOP U.S. Senate candidates Pete Hoekstra of Holland and Clark Durant of Grosse Pointe are campaigning hard across the state Monday and had Lansing stops planned a half-block apart at the same time. Randy Hekman of Grand Rapids also is in that race.Democratic Congressmen Hansen Clarke of Detroit and Gary Peters of Oakland County's Bloomfield Township were battling in the 14th District running from Detroit into Oakland County, and Detroit Democratic Rep. John Conyers' campaigning for his 25th term. In west Michigan, Jack Hoogendyk of Kalamazoo County's Texas Township is working to defeat GOP Rep. Fred Upton of St. Joseph in the 6th District.
