Tractor Still Missing In Van Buren County

The Van Buren County Sheriffs Department is looking for information regarding the theft of some farm equipment in Lawrence Township. Deputies say that, some time between late Thursday and early Friday, someone stole a 1978 John Deere tractor and 18 foot flat bottom trailer from a field in the 56 thousand block of 48th Avenue. The theft was discovered by employees of the farm as they came to work on Friday morning. The 18 foot blue trailer was used for hauling tomatoes. The trailer was found Friday afternoon, but the tractor is still missing. Police say evidence at the scene where the trailer was found indicates the tractor was driven off on 60th Street in Bangor, but they lost the track a short distance away due to road conditions. Anyone with information is asked to call the Van Buren County Sheriffs Department.
