He stole diabitic testing strips from Meijer stores in three states, and then turned that into a cottage industry out of his house by selling them over the Internet. Now, 48-year-old Alan Fields is headed to prison for between three and 20 years for it. The Benton Harbor man will also have to pay $100,000 in restitution to Meijer, as the grocery chain says it lost $250,000. Fields hauled in about $40,000 selling the stolen medical supplies he swiped out of stores in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.
