Michigan And Ohio Looking For Asian Carp In Lake Erie

The Michigan and Ohio Departments of Natural Resources are joining with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to look for two Asian carp species in Lake Erie. Lab results analyzed in July showed what scientists call environmental DNA from two species in the western part of Lake Erie by Toledo and Sandusky, Ohio. Most of the focus in the Great Lakes so far has been on closing off the Chicago River system from Lake Michigan, as the invasive species have been found in downstate Illinois.
