The Southwest Michigan Association of Realtors says that the local housing market shifted in the month of June. In its latest report, the Association says that the number of homes sold during that month was up about two percent over the June of 2011 numbers, which represents a slowdown compared to the trend from other months in the year. However, it's also noted that the average prices of a home sold continues to go up, with that number being 56 percent higher in June of this year than last. Nationally, existing-home prices continued to show gains but sales fell in June with tight supplies of affordable homes limiting first time buyers, according to the National Association of Realtors. All in all, this region in June looked stable, but not stellar.
