The United Auto Workers Southwest Michigan CAP Council has endorsed Mike O'Brien for Congress in the Sixth District. O'Brien is the Democrat who will take on either Fred Upton or Jack Hoogendyk come November. This week his campaign announced the UAW endorsement, with O'Brien saying, "If I am elected to Congress, I’ll always fight for workers’ rights and their ability to organize." The Sixth Congressional District spans a six county area in southwest Michigan, including Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and Saint Joseph Counties. O’Brien works in Holland for Herman Miller, where he leads the development of new product designs.
