Former Edgewater Bank President Goes To Prison

The former president of Edgewater Bank is going to prison. William Peterson was arrested for child molestation back in 2008, but had managed to avoid prison -- or even registering as a sex offender -- after being convicted only of misdemeanor battery. However, in March of this year, he was found to have violated the terms of his probation by drinking alcohol. So, a judge in South Bend this week sentenced him to two years behind bars, dismissing his pleas for continued alcohol abuse treatment. Peterson was fired from Edgewater Bank shortly after his arrest. It had been alleged that the mother of a six year old family friend found Peterson with his hand down the sleeping girl's pants.
