A Benton Harbor organization for teen girls will be holding a walk and rally for AIDS next month. On Saturday, August fourth, participants will start out at the Dwight P Mitchell City Center Park at nine AM for the first Jewels Take AIDS Walk and Rally. The group's Sheana Kizer tells WSJM that the goal is to benefit two Michigan organizations:
Jewels is a Benton Harbor organization for girls between 13 and 18 that aims to teach them positive lessons about life and health. Kizer says that AIDS remains a concern here in Southwest Michigan, and the world. Registration is either 25 or 30 dollars, depending on how much you pledge...and you can sign up by calling 849-5170, or by emailing we_are_jewels@yahoo.com .
