Just a few days after the massacre at a movie theater near Denver, people are already looking for answers as to what could have caused it. State Representative Joe Haveman of Holland blames society's love of violence.
Twelve people were killed in the shooting at the opening showing of the latest in the "Batman" series. Among the victims were a Lansing native who was an aspiring sports journalist and a Navy officer from Chicago. While Haveman blames society's love of violence for the shootings, Fox News host and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee compared the shootings to abortion and blamed them on a quote, "sin problem." The one-time presidential candidate said on Fox Sunday night that America doesn't have quote, "a crime problem or a gun problem or even a violence problem" and said we shouldn't be surprised when such shootings happened because America has "ordered God out of our schools and communities."
