Where Are The Bodies Buried?

A third family now says they think the Crystal Springs Cemetery has a loved one buried in the wrong spot. The latest is the family of Dorothy Austin, who died in February 2009. Her daughter says she had to search to find her mother's grave because family members at the time were barred from being at the cemetery during actual burial, a rule that has changed. Carrie Gray says the day after she found the grave, the headstone was moved to a different location about 80 yards away. The cemetery's board this week voted to exhume the grave, but made no decision on when it will happen or who will pay for it between the cemetery or the family. In June, the cemetery unearthed the grave of Ruth Nichols at her family's request, finding that grave to be just where it was supposed to be. Along with Austin's family, the survivors of Gwendie Baird want to have her remains exhumed and say their situation has been dragging on for over a year.
