The Michigan Department of Transportation says the M-63 Niles Road bridge over I-94 will be reopened Friday afternoon. Spokesman Nick Schirripa says there is a little bit of work yet to do with the pavement before traffic can flow again.
The project was delayed several weeks, but the bridge is opening on schedule. Schirripa says the project is also slightly under budget so far as well. There will still be some work going on underneath the bridge, which will result in some occasional lane closures on I-94. Overall, the project is set to wrap up on August 18.
