You can safely get rid of used motor oil, home medical waste, batteries, florescent light bulbs and other material the garbage man would refuse to take this weekend. Berrien County is holding a recycle event at Watervliet High School on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, and County Environmental Specialist says there could be some small fees for people with a lot of stuff to get rid of.
Up to two car batteries will also be accepted at no charge, with a fee of two bucks per battery charged after that. They will not be accepting latex paint, appliances, computers or tires. More information can be found at www.berriencounty.org/recycle.
