For the second time this year, the Crystal Springs Cemetery will be exhuming a grave to be sure someone has been buried in the correct plot. Cemetery Board member and Benton Harbor City Commissioner Dennis Knowles tells WSJM the family of Gwendie Baird believes she is in the wrong plot.
A date for digging up the grave has not been set. Knowles and cemetery board chairman Thom Golba say they think the two issues that have popped up so far are the tip of the iceberg linked to previous management of the cemetery and they think there may be more problems. Knowles says he's heard of at least one occasion where someone bought a plot that had previously been purchased, and says they're asking people to be patient as they try to straighten things out.
