A South Bend man was killed in a traffic crash over the weekend in Cass County. Michigan State Police troopers say that 69 year old Charles Barnes, of Niles, had been westbound on M60 in Howard Township on Sunday afternoon when he crossed the centerline and hit another vehicle head on. The driver of that vehicle -- 33 year old Jeremy Adams -- was pinned inside, and later pronounced dead by responders. Two passengers in Barnes' vehicle were treated for minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, and police say that they're looking for a motorcyclist who may have been a witness. That person is asked to call the Michigan State Police post in Niles at 683-4411 .
