Seven people are alive thanks to the efforts of the U.S. Coast Guard at Holland State Park over the weekend. They were all swimming in Lake Michigan and got caught in rip currents, with five being rescued just after 10 p.m. Saturday and two others being pulled out of the water over the next three hours. Life rings from the north pier were used in the rescue of the first five swimmers. The Coast Guard has not released any identities, nor have any injuries been revealed.
