It's hot, with no relief in sight for southwest Michigan. NewsCenter 16 meteorologist Mike Hoffman says we've had a few hot summers over the past years, but this is the hottest in over 20 years.
The National Weather Service has an excessive heat warning in effect for the rest of the week for Berrien County, as high temperatures could hit as high as 100 degrees in the coming days. Hoffman says some rain would help a lot, as the current drought is allowing the air to heat up much quicker. There have been some storms in the past few weeks in the area, but they've broken up over Berrien County and reformed further inland.
