Humane Society Gets Flood Of Dog Food Donations

The week, we reported that theHumane Society of Southwest Michigan has been running low on dog food, and just a day later, the organization tells us that it's been getting a flood of donations. The Humane Society's Jill Svoboda says people around here are generous:

She says that the dog food supply got low because, this time of year, adoptions usually go down while the entrance of new animals continues at a steady pace. Because the Humane Society of a no-kill shelter, it'll have some animals who stay on for as long as a year or more, so food demands can be high. Even though dog food donations have been pouring in, Svoboda says people shouldn't stop giving. The Humane Society is always looking for help. You can reach it at 927-3303 .
