President Obama's Affordable Care Act overhauling our healthcare system has been upheld as constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court. Congressman Fred Upton says despite the ruling, Republicans are not giving up their fight to overturn the law.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette was among the attorneys general who sued the government to get rid of the law which sent the matter to the high court. He said he was "deeply disappointed" by the ruling.
Chief Justice John Roberts joined with the liberal members of the Supreme Court to uphold the healthcare reform law. In issuing their opinion, the justices said it is constitutional if the mandate is enacted as a tax. Upton says that could hurt President Obama's reelection efforts seeing that he pledged to not raise taxes on the middle class when he was elected four years ago.
