LMC Outsourcing Custodians



Over 20 custodians at Lake Michigan College will be given a chance to apply for jobs with the new company that the Board of Trustees has hired to take over cleaning duties. This week, the board decided to enter into a contract with WFF Facility Services to provide custodians. LMC President doctor Bob Harrison tells WSJM that the cost cutting move had been in the works for some time, and it's in line with what other local school districts have been doing to save money:

He says that LMC stands to save around 200 to 300 thousand dollars a year by outsourcing custodial services. The custodians who don't get hired by WFF Facility Services will be offered some tuition free classes at the college to improve their chances at finding some other employment.
