Remember To Keep Your Pets Cool When Hot Weather Hits This Week



We're expected to get temperatures around 100 degrees in Southwest Michigan this week, and experts say that this heat can be just as bad for your dog as it can be for you. So, Doctor Ed Blesy, with the Saint Joseph Animal Wellness Clinic, says that you ought to make sure your animal isn't outside for too long once it gets really hot. And, be sure he has access to shade and water. Doctor Blesy says that you can tell when the heat has beat your pet:

The same issues apply to cats, as well as dogs. Doctor Blesy added that you should be sure not to leave the dog in a car...not even when it's a comfortable 80 outside.
