Silver Beach Drowning Victim Identified

Alexander Hines has been identified as the drowning victim at Silver Beach in St. Joseph this week. St. Joseph police say the 26-year-old man was from Benton Harbor. He jumped off the south pier into Lake Michigan Tuesday afternoon after witnesses said his sunglasses fell off his face. Hines was in the water for over an hour before crews were able to pull his body out of the lake. He came up one time after falling in and called for help, but no one was able to get to him.
