The only Democrat to announce for this year’s 6th District Congressional race has announced he is officially dropping out. In a news release John Waltz blames an "an unforeseen life threatening illness" for ending his campaign. It is not yet known who else the democrats may run in his stead. Democrats have reportedly been meeting and discussing possible candidates for a few weeks, sensing that the incumbent may be vulnerable this time around. Who ever they choose would take on the winner of the Republican primary between Incumbent Fred Upton and Jack HOogendyk this August.
