Michigan is another step closer towards allowing the establishment of more cyber schools. Those online institutions are backed by those who want to find new ways of saving money from the education budget, but others question whether they provide the same level of instruction as traditional schools. A bill that would lift the cap on cyber schools in Michigan has cleared committees in both chambers of the state legislature, and now it could get a full House vote as soon as this week. Michigan Education Association President Steven Cook says that he takes issue with the idea of turning taxpayer dollars over to for-profit companies that might not have much oversight:
