You like sandwiches? How about an eight pound sandwich with four kinds of meat and a bunch of veggies? That's what three Midwest Family Broadcasting employees ate on Monday as part of the Passero's Pizza Man vs Meat Challenge. Jellybean McDonough, Bigfoot, and John Jay bested the Doughboys team to win free pizza once a month for three months. Passero's owner Mario Abbott told WSJM that he came up with the massive Quello Grande in response to the competitive eating craze:
Customers are offered a chance to eat that beast in exchange for free pizza each month for a year. But remember -- it's not easy. It took three of our guys to polish one off in 38 minutes, and they were barely standing by the time their plate had been cleaned. Just ask WIRX's Bigfoot what he thought:
The company's John Jay has seldom been so challenged:
The sandwich has beef, salami, ham, turkey, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese...all wrapped in thick sourdough.
