LMC Approves New Certificate Programs

A couple of new certificate of achievement programs at Lake Michigan College. This week, the board of trustees approved programs in the areas of Logistics and Energy Production Technology-line worker. Each was developed with the help of companies in the region, with an eye on helping to meet their hiring needs. For example, the new logistics program, which deals with managing the flow of goods from one place to another, was designed with input from Whirlpool. Also, the new line worker program has been backed by Indiana Michigan Power. Lake Michigan College President Doctor Bob Harrison says that by being in tune with what the local workforce needs, LMC can better help its students find job opportunities. Students with the Certificate of Achievement in either of these new programs can apply those credits toward an Associate in General Studies, or Associate in General Technology degree from LMC.
