Michigan Adoption Day This Week

Tuesday has been designated as Michigan Adoption Day. According to the state, there are currently about three thousand children in the foster care system waiting to be adopted, and Nicole Vaughn, of Detroit, is one parent who's helped out. She's currently the mom to five adopted kids, having received help from Lutheran Adoption Service. Vaughn says her experience proves it all begins with an open mind and an open heart:

About 30 counties statewide are expected to hold Adoption Day events, finalizing adoptions, or holding adoption information fairs this week.
