Andrews University has a full slate of events planned for next week to mark the tenth anniversary of the September Eleventh attacks. "Memories of Sacrifice, Reasons for Hope" runs from the fourth to the eleventh, and coordinator Rebecca May tells WSJM that the university is making an effort to reflect on Nine Eleven from several different perspectives. Being an international institution, Andrews is in a position to do just that:
Nine-Eleven will be examined from several historical and religious perspectives, and they'll have guest speakers all week -- including one man who was actually in the World Trade Center when the first plane hit:
May tells us that the culmination of "Memories of Sacrifice, Reasons for Hope" will be on September the eleventh itself, with a morning ceremony and moment of silence at the Andrews center of campus flagpole, and then a seven PM concert at the Howard Performing Arts Center:
She says it's almost shocking to realize it's been ten years since Nine Eleven, and the week's planners felt it important to educate the younger students on what the day means to the rest of us:
