Governor Rick Snyder will be in Saint Joseph on Thursday to address a gathering of municipal government officials from across Michigan. The Michigan Local Government Management Association is holding its annual summer conference in town, and Saint Joe City Manager Frank Walsh tells us there's a lot of interesting discussion going on there:
Governor Snyder is set to speak at nine-30 in the AM at the Heritage Center Thursday, and he's likely to talk about managing local governments in tight financial times, which is what the Michigan Municipal League told us is the hot topic, in addition to shared services. Between 100 and 200 government officials were expected to be in Saint Joe for the workshop.
