Construction is set to begin in May on the Galien River County Park in Berrien County. Permits required for construction in New Buffalo Township have been approved. Parks Director Brian Bailey says bids will now be put out.
The roughly 90-acres of land is along the Galien River off Red Arrow Highway. The project will cost $925,000.
Bailey says between the construction at Galien River County Park and a possible $400,000 trust fund grant for an improvement project at Silver Beach, the parks department will keep busy this summer.
