Woman Injured In Harbor Country Robbery Recovering

Police are following up on leads they've received regarding a home invasion and assault that took place in Chikaming Township last week. Michigan State Police troopers say that 61 year old Ann Dawson was tied up and beaten by a man who broke into her home in Lakeside on July 13th. He left her for dead, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, and she was found in her home by family members the next day. Dawson is now out of the hospital, having suffered a broken arm and injuries to the face, among other things, and is staying with relatives. Michigan State Police continue to ask for any information that might lead to the arrest of the suspect, who's described as a white male in his 20s with a thin build, standing about five foot seven.
