A Watervliet man has been bound over for charges connected to the death of his wife. Berrien County Trial Court Judge Angela Pasula ruled 45-year-old Scott White will face charges of operating a vehicle while under the influence of liquor and causing death, involuntary manslaughter and negligent homicide. White allegedly ran over his wife while driving drunk in August. Assistant Prosecutor Patricia Ceresa says there was some question over the admissibility of statements made by White at the accident scene to police. But Ceresa says Pasula ruled in favor of the prosecution, saying the law allows police to ask general questions without reading someone's Miranda rights. Ceresa says White's trial is set for January 13th.
