Water Authority Lawsuit Dismissed


A Berrien County judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging the formation of the The Southwest Regional Sanitary Sewer and Water Authority. The village of Stevensville had sought the dissolution of the authority on the grounds that it never got the proper permits and contracts to replace its predecessor, the Lake Michigan Shoreline Water and Sewage Treatment Authority, which fell apart last year over budget disputes. Authority Secretary Al Pscholka says that Judge Linda Tolen on Tuesday threw out the suit:

Pscholka says it's good for the Authority that the that the dispute is finally over, as it's cost a great deal of money in legal fees.
